Painting takes a special kind of artist to be successful; one who understands the deliberate calculations and the story they are telling with their brushstrokes. It can be a slow process that may not always result in what the artist initially envisioned, but that is part of the beauty of it – the fact that the painting may make its own statement and take on a life of its own. As an artist, I find that allure to be incredibly rewarding.
